Expertise

Taylor is an associate in the firm’s commercial litigation and dispute resolution team and has a broad range of experience in commercial disputes, predominantly in the Supreme and Federal Courts. As part of her commercial practice, Taylor has a particular interest in corporate insolvency.

Prior to joining SBA Law, Taylor was an associate at the Supreme Court of Victoria, completing associateships with the Honourable Associate Justice Gardiner and the Honourable Associate Justice Lansdowne. During this time, Taylor gained extensive experience in the Commercial Court and Common Law divisions of the Supreme Court including specialist lists such as the Corporations, Property, and Judicial Review and Appeals Lists.

In addition to her commercial practice, Taylor has experience in charity and migration law and has worked and volunteered for community legal centres and not for profit organisations.

Education

Taylor holds a Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) and Master of Laws (Juris Doctor) from Monash University.

Experience

Recent matters Taylor has worked on include and concern:

  • Complex contractual disputes, including concerning property, trusts, sales, acquisitions, capital raising and investments.
  • Claims of oppressive conduct under the Corporations Act.
  • Claims of breaches of directors’ duties.
  • Administrations and liquidations of companies, including
    • extension of convening period for the second meeting of creditors;
    • public examinations;
    • voidable transactions;
    • applications under the Insolvency Practice Schedule.
  • Applications for windings up and to set aside creditors’ statutory demands.
  • Claims concerning cryptocurrency.
  • Successful pre-litigation settlement of disputes concerning a wide range of commercial matters.

Awards and recognition

Taylor is included in the 2022 edition of Doyle’s Guide as a rising star in the areas of litigation and insolvency.
