Andrew Green is a commercial litigator with over 20 years of experience. He joined SBA Law in January 2017, having until December 2016 been the senior litigation partner at Melbourne boutique firm Norton Gledhill, and before that a litigation partner at national firm, Corrs Chambers Westgarth.
Andrew has a depth of experience in Australian jurisdictions at all levels, in tribunals (particularly the Building Appeals Board and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal), first instance trial work at all levels (particularly the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Federal Court of Australia), intermediate appellate work (particularly the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Full Court of the Federal Court of Australia) and in application for special leave to appeal and appeals to the High Court of Australia. Recent notable cases in which Andrew has acted include Colonial Range Pty Ltd v CES-Queen (Vic) Pty Ltd  VSCA 356, Colonial Range v CES-Queen  VSCA 328, Lewski v Australian Securities and Investments Commission  FCAFC 96, and Re Day [No 2]  HCA 14.
Andrew also has a wealth of experience in ADR, including in arbitration (particularly under the ICC Rules), and in mediation.
Andrew’s recent practice areas include matters arising under the Building Act 1993 (Vic), the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) (particularly directors’ duties and ASIC prosecutions), constitutional law and matters involving the multiplicity of issues that conventionally arise in contractual and other disputes in a commercial context. Andrew’s clients include publicly listed and foreign corporations, private companies, high net worth individuals, and current and former Federal politicians.
Andrew is currently included as a recommended commercial litigation and dispute resolution lawyer in the 2019 edition of the Doyle’s Guide.
