Andrew Green is a commercial litigator with over 25 years of experience. He joined SBA Law in January 2017, having formerly been the senior litigation partner at Melbourne boutique commercial firm Norton Gledhill, and a litigation partner at national firm, Corrs Chambers Westgarth.
Andrew has excellent experience in Australian jurisdictions at all levels, including first instance trial work (particularly in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Federal Court of Australia), intermediate appellate work (particularly in the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria and in the Full Court of the Federal Court of Australia) and in applications for special leave to appeal and appeals to the High Court of Australia.
Andrew also has experience in alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration (particularly under the ICC Rules), and mediation and in work before tribunals (particularly the Building Appeals Board and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal).
Andrew’s recent practice areas include matters arising under the Building Act 1993 (Vic), the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) (particularly directors’ duties and ASIC prosecutions), the enforcement of real and personal property securities under State and Federal legislation, mortgagee’s duties, constitutional law and matters involving the varied issues that arise in contractual and other disputes in a commercial context.
