Expertise

Alyssa is a lawyer in the firm’s commercial litigation and dispute resolution team. Since joining in 2021, Alyssa has worked on a wide range of matters including consumer law, property disputes, contractual matters, employment relations, class actions and matters in the County, Supreme and Federal Courts.

She has a keen interest in competition law, consumer rights, breach of contract disputes, corporate insolvency and alternative dispute resolution.

Alyssa takes pride in ensuring clients are provided with clear, commercial advice through her attention to detail, thorough research and ability to understand and work through various legal concepts.

Education

Alyssa holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in politics and policy studies and international relations) from Deakin University.

Experience

Recent litigation matters Alyssa has worked on include:

• Claims concerning the application and interpretation of the Australian Consumer Law, including in relation to products in the construction and medical industries.
• Claims of oppressive conduct and shareholder issues under the Corporations Act.
• Claims in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, including in the Planning and Environment list.
• Claims relating to general protections and adverse action for complex employment disputes in the Federal Court.
• Various contractual disputes across property, employment, products and services, equity and sales.
• Assisting with discovery, preparation of evidence and pre-litigation steps concerning a wide range of commercial disputes.
