Steven Klein
Steven Klein practices in commercial and corporate law, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, including the sale and purchase of businesses and companies, public and private capital raisings and initial public offerings. His major clients include both listed public companies and private entrepreneurs.
Steven joined SBA Law in August 2011, after having been a Partner at Arnold Bloch Leibler since 1996. He joined Arnold Bloch Liebler as an articled clerk in 1988, after graduating in law and commerce from the University of Melbourne.
Major Transactions
Steven has acted for a range of clients in large and complex commercial matters, including:
• catchoftheday and Scoopon: in the sale of a 40 per cent interest to a group of investors in 2011;
• sass & bide: in the sale of a 65 per cent interest to Myer Holdings Limited in 2011;
• SEEK Limited: since it was established in 1997, including in the purchase of a controlling shareholding in Jobs DB in late 2010;
• Breville Group Limited: in its ASX listing in 1999 and in all major transactions since its listing; and
• Premier Investments Limited: in the sale in March 2007 of its shareholding in Coles Group Limited to Wesfarmers Limited and in its takeover of the Just Group in 2008.
Directorships
Steven was appointed a director of Breville Group Limited in September 2003. He is also a member of the Executive and Finance Committees of Mount Scopus Memorial College.
