Phil Nolan

Phil has been a lawyer since 1993 and has been a Principal of SBA Law since 2007.
He is the chair of the Growth Areas Infrastructure Contribution Hardship Relief Board and the Estate Agents Council. Primarily the Council is responsible for administering the Victorian Property Fund and advising the Minister of Consumer Affairs on matters relating to Estate Agents.
On 18 November 2011 Phil received the Law Institute of Victoria Certificate of Service Award.
Phil is a member (and previous chair) of the Property Law Committee of the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV), sits on the Executive at the LIV and is a member of the Property Law Dispute Resolution Committee.
He is a Senior Fellow of the University of Melbourne where he has lectured for 10 years in Property Law in the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning.
He has presented or chaired a number of seminars for many organisations such as TEN, Planet, Legalwise, API, Leo Cussen Institute and the LIV and has written a number of articles for the Age and Australian Financial Review.
Also of note, is the assistance he has given the Victorian Law Reform Commission in regards to the reform of Property Law in Victoria as a member of the Expert Consultative Committee.
Phil’s work includes acting for vendors on city apartment sales “off-the-plan”, broad acre industrial and residential subdivisions, commercial leasing, advice on Victorian State Taxes and GST, purchase and sale of businesses, finance documentation and telecommunications law.
He enjoys house renovating, recycling almost everything and sewing.
