Rachel practises in the firm’s commercial litigation and dispute resolution team and works closely with Sam Bond. She has particular expertise in insolvency, class actions, contractual disputes and general commercial litigation.
Prior to joining SBA Law, Rachel was an associate to the Honourable Justice Gordon at the Federal Court of Australia. Whilst an associate she assisted her Honour in high profile cases including the “Centro” class action and the ANZ “bank fees” class actions. Rachel completed her articles of clerkship and worked as a solicitor at Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now King & Wood Mallesons) in their dispute resolution practice group, with a focus on insolvency. Whilst there she worked on major corporate insolvencies including Opes Prime and Sonray Capital Markets. Rachel has also worked as a Law Tutor at Monash University, tutoring property law and contract law.
Rachel holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science from Monash University. Rachel has completed the Insolvency Education Program conducted by the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia and was the top Victorian/Tasmanian student in the corporate insolvency module of that Program.
